Baptism

Baptism of Children

Baptism is one of the Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church; frequently called the "first sacrament" as it is the gateway to the rest of the sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of the mystical body of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (CCC: 1213) Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about the Sacrament of Baptism.

The baptismal preparation process at St. Monica's Parish begins with the completion of this baptismal registration form. Paper copies of the form are also available at the parish office.

We will send you a confirmation email once we receive the completed form, and schedule your baptismal interview with our pastor.  During the interview, you will select the baptismal preparation class you would like to attend.  Baptismal preparation classes are held every 1st Wednesday of the month, at 7 pm.

Baptisms are held every 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, at 1:30 pm.

Becoming Catholic (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the way adults come to learn about and experience the Christian life, specifically our Roman Catholic tradition, and become initiated into the life of our Church through the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Click here for more information about the RCIA program.

If you are or someone you know is interested in becoming Catholic, please complete this RCIA registration form.  We will contact you as soon as we receive the completed form to schedule your meeting with our pastor.  St. Monica's Parish offers three RCIA batches that begin in September, January, and May.  Please feel free to contact the parish office (416-483-1513, stmonicatoronto@gmail.com) for any questions or concerns.
